This BLS for Healthcare Provider classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Audience: Healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, physicians, nurses, nursing students, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and others who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a BLS for Healthcare Provider Course.

Course length: Approximately 4 hours

Upon successful completion of written test and skills demonstration, students receive an American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers card, valid for two years.

Student materials required: AHA Basic Life Support Provider Manual.  American Heart Association mandates that each student have access to the most current provider manual before, durring and after the course.  Please note: the exam at the completion of the course is open book.  If you do not have one already, you can order the student manual with the class.  Book price includes tax.

The AHA REQUIRES each student to have the correct student provider manual for all classes (please see above for required texts). ALL PRODUCTS will be SHIPPED upon registration. If you purchase an AHA eBook, you will need to validate your access code at ebooks.heart.org. You can access you eBook online or download the app to a mobile device for offline access.
